Be afraid. It's been three years since plucky New York City cop Aya Brea battled the fiendishly mutated Eve and hordes of evolutionary horrors. Now, the well-known double helix (fueled, of course, by mitochondria - the powerhouses of every living cell) has forged itself again into an evil force. With the stage properly set, the creepy action RPG Parasite Eve 2 (sequel to Square's dense and unnerving Parasite Eve) begins in the Los Angeles headquarters of MIST. With her "parasite energy" superpowers still fully intact, Brea has moved to LaLaLand to take a position with the FBI strike force MIST. She's a monster hunter now, and MIST - an acronym for "Mitochondrion Investigation and Suppression Team" - has been called in to lend its skills in a series of horrific events. "It looks like the doo-doo has really hit the fan, " one MIST member quips in Eve 2's opening moments. Seldom has one man, exercising the worst sort of kiddiespeak, been so correct with such facile commentary.
