Item does work and removes stubborn dead tissue from feet; however, the current version of the unit has several flaws ... unlike the older units which took commercially - available batteries, this unit has a button cell battery that is NOT replaceable. You cannot open the unit to replace a battery without destroying the unit. And - in use once per week - this unit lasts about 6 weeks... so, you gotta throw the whole thing away and buy a new one!! Also, the vaunted LED light ( which is really handy ) lasts until the battery gets weak then it craps out. The unit functions as intended; but, with built - in obsolescence, it's most annoying to have to replace it so often with a new one.
I prefer this newer Ped Egg rechargeable model to the Amope that I bought a few months ago because (for my arthritic hands) the Ped Egg has a better on/off switch than the Amope. My arthritic hands couldn't operate the very narrow circular switch that hugged the Amope's cylindrical handle all the way around. Right out of its plastic case, which even someone with good hands will find a production to open, I gifted the Amope to my mail carrier. Because the new version of the Ped Egg uses Amope spin head replacements their heads are identical. They're probably made by the same manufacturer so it will be easy to purchase replacements. The head is an improvement over the older Ped Egg battery operated model because the skin dust can no longer get stuck in the gears. And, since this newer model is rechargeable, it saves on the cost of batteries. I'm a long time user of Ped Eggs and can honestly say that even their manual versions are superior to other brands that I've tried over the years. Of course, if I made the effort to moisturize my feet after every shower (which is what I did before the arthritis set in), I probably wouldn't need any such device.
A great product for troubled feet. Very economical having an electric plug as opposed to battery.
Works well. The little light actually works to see while operating. Good price, good product.
Was given as a gift person loves it
