Peg Perego John Deere Loader Ride-On Toy

We bought this for our son for Christmas and he loves it! Since it is winter and we are in Wisconsin we have not brought it outside yet so I can't vouch for its traction or anything, but my kids sure love to play with it in the house, even just dumping things.

I purchased this ride on tractor for my 2 year old Grandson for Christmas and he absolutely loves it! It is so cute and it was so much fun to watch him climb on it Christmas Day. My husband put it together and I helped place the stickers on it a few hours before he arrived to find it beside his Chrismas tree. In a mater of minutes our Grandson learned how to operate the front end loader bucket with the handle. I think he will enjoy this ride on tractgor for many years to come.

We purchased this for our 3 year old whose older brother has a much older Peg Perego CaterPeg pedal tractor. The older model we have is 10+ years old - and the quality of the construction is far superior. The older model is more durable as it has more metal and less plastic. Still, this is a good pedal tractor for a 2.5-4.5 year old. It would be small for an average 5 year old. The other reviews noting the terrible instructions and difficult assembly are accurate. As we own a similar model, we thought the assembly would be easier for us as we are familiar with the parts. It was not. It took us 2+ hours to put together. Our 3 year old loves it, but I doubt it will last 10+ years like the older model we have.

I purchased this for my oldest grandson's 2nd birthday. I love the product, but the instructions for assembly are horrible. After battling with it for a while, I finally just looked at the picture on the box and put it together without the instructions. The first step on the instructions is to attach the steering wheel to the steering rod, but I had to practically remove the entire front end to get my hand in to hold the rod in place because every time you push the steering wheel down it pushes the rod in too far to put the screw in place. One thing that they do not tell you is to put the decals on before you assemble it. One of the decals goes on under the steering wheel, but I was not about to take it apart again so I just cut a slit in the decal and worked it around the steering wheel. Once it is put together, it is a great product and he loves dumping stuff out of the front end loader.

Although it was difficult to assemble, I am pleased with the product. I like the ajustable seat. I also like the high seat back. I like the pedals/chain system. I like the usable front loader. I did think it would be a more sturdy, harder, durable plastic, though.
