Pentair IntelliChlor IC15 Cell for Above-Ground Pool Systems - 520888

My last one lasted for 8 yrs after a rocky start where 2 were replaced within few months. I run on 25% 23.9hrs a day. I have to put acid in 2-3 times a week to keep PH down. I think the unit lasted so long as it does not work hard while keepIng PH in check. Ie clean it once every 1-2yrs. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I recently had to replace my IC 20 intellichlor cell that quit working in less than 3 years. The new intellichlor cell worked fine until the flow sensor failed 5 months after it was installed. This is one piece that is needed to convert your pool into a Salt water pool. I have been using Pentair equipment for over 10 years. From my pump to sand filter to the salt system have been great. I found that the pricing has been very good compared to the competition so don't waste your time. You will enjoy the pricing, quality, and years of performance. I've had to replace two units... and I have a small pool (11,000 gallons) with an IC 20. I only run the chlorine generation at 35% and have only had the pool 5 years. Each time they failed just under warranty expiration period.. Lucky for me! Pentair's honoring of the warranty and the replacement service at no cost is the only reason I've given 2 stars... else it would be 1. Great customer service... just a poorly designed product.
