Its a good, cheap little feeder. Don’t expect it to last for years. Its all plastic and it may fall apart in a storm, but for the price, it’s worth using while it lasts. You can switch the ports back and forth for regular seed or thistle which is really cool.
I love this this birdie feeder!! The birds were on it after only five minutes!! Small enough to deter the bully blue Jay's but small enough for many other birds. I have had major chipmunk and squirrel problems but so far so good, after 2 weeks no problem at all! For 5 dollars you can't beat it!!
My main complaint is that the seeds fall out too easily compaired to other tube feeders. Larger seeds like black oiled sunflower seeds seem to be fine but anything smaller just pours out. When a bird lands on a perch, the ground feeders are very happy. I would pay a little extra for a better feeder. You will be wasting seed in the long run.
This is a low-quality item. If I saw it in person you would never buy it. Several pieces have cracked and fallen off. It arrives assembled from two fragile half pieces that make the round tube. Plastic like a pop bottle, with brittle landing sticks that snap off from the weight of a bird.
I've not used a wild bird feeder before so do not know what to expect yet with this one. I think it is mostly for small birds as the little perches on it are to small for larger birds. There are little holes for them to put only their beaks through to get at the seed or you flip each flap on the holes to open them up so they can fit their little heads all the way in. I plan on getting some wild bird seed next time I'm at the grocery for it so maybe I'll have some cute little birdies in my yard soon enjoying eating from it.
