Petmate 24960 50 Oz White Fresh Water Flow Fountain

My cat has been using this for about 2 weeks now she loves it, the continuous moving of the water means that she does not have to put food in her bowl to make it move. I love that it is small and it works well for my cat.

This is a replacement for an identical version that had the Pet Mate logo and was shipped from Pet Mate. I really don't understand the rebranding, but the fountain is great for our cats.

This item came quickly after ordering, however, the pump and cord were missing. So, I cannot use the fountain. I received nothing with the package but an invoice; no information on returns, etc. My money is gone, but I will never order online again.

I bought this fountain for two pets. The dog is about 15 pounds. The cat is about 8 pounds. The dog took immediately to the fountain and uses it no less than three times a day. The cat is a bit more skittish. She can hear the motor and is frightened by it. It's a low hum that's only noticeable if you're right next to it. After two days she finally took a drink from it but still seems to be wary. Assembly went smoothly. I got it pumping water in less than ten minutes. Taking it apart for maintenance is a little harder. My only advice there is not to be afraid of yanking on the white part where the filter goes. It doesn't come out easily. For two small pets the water needs to be refilled every three days if you fill it properly. You're supposed to take the thing apart, fill the two chambers in the back with water, fill the bowl halfway with water, and THEN fill the tank with water. The fountain takes more water than you can fill in a single tank. If you just refill the tank you might have to refill daily. Once a week I take the whole thing apart and wipe it down with paper towel. Most of the dirt's in the bowl where the pets are drinking from. According to the instructions I'd also have to replace the charcoal filter once a month which isn't a problem. The filters aren't expensive. This is a pretty good value for a small indoor pet or two. If you have a Large or even a Medium Dog I can't imagine this thing holding enough water to last them the day.

This was a replacement unit for a previous unit over 10 years old (pump finally gave out). Works great. Only down side is it can be difficult to clean and it must be periodically cleaned. Pets really seem to like it. It is pretty quite unlil water lever gets low or needs to be cleaned.
