This bottle has helped tremendously with feedings on my son. It has cut down on the amount of air he would swallow, this causing less gas and for a much happier baby. Sometimes the formula doesn't completely desolve in the water if the green piece is placed before shaking. However, we have found that if you shake the formula first then put the green piece inside the bottle the formula desolves better.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Phillips Avent Anti Colic Bottle with air free vent 2 pack from Stellar testing Panel to try in exchange for my honest opinion. I really like them as they have helped my baby not take in so much air while drinking, which has cut done the On the tummy issues and fussiness. They are make with quality, clear material that allows me to see how much formula is being taken in and they clean very easily. The nipples are also perfect. My baby took right to it and seems to really enjoys them.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really liked the design of these bottles. As the milk tips into the nipple, the nipple fills up and stays that way, decreasing the chance for any air bubbles to sneak in. I can see this being very effective for paced bottle feeding! I was excited to try these bottles, but unfortunately my baby did not take to the nipple. She does have a lip tie, which makes it hard for her to take the thinner type of nipples. However, I can say that the quality of the bottle and nipple is great. I also like the compact size of the bottle, it's much smaller compared to other 4 oz bottles on the market. The cleaning was easy as well, the vent system easily comes out and has no tiny crevices for milk to get trapped into. Thank you Stellar Testing Panel for giving me the opportunity to try these bottles out.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Despite the learning curve, this is a pretty good bottle. The anti colic vent insert does work and you can test it for yourself when you have the insert with the “spoon” up during feeds. When positioned correctly, the nipple will fill with milk even if the bottle isn't completely angled down. Make sure you push the insert all the way down and that you tighten the bottle really good before using. I learned this the hard way a few times once my baby was completely covered in milk! It will leak if all the parts aren't perfectly put together. This felt a little frustrating because even when you think it's on right, it's not and the worst time to figure that out is in the middle of the night, mid-feed. But once I would take it apart and screw it back on again, it worked fine. I like that you can use the bottle without the anti colic insert too. Although, I haven't yet tested to see if it will still leak without the insert. Sometimes, that fatty portion of my breast milk will get stuck behind the insert and even a good swirl wouldn't get it out. Most of the times it would eventually dissolve though. But unlike other anti colic bottles, this one is easy to clean because there aren't too many parts which is always a plus. Overall though, my baby seems to like this bottle and I feel that I can usually burp her with ease afterwards. Thank you to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me this bottle set!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was given this bottle set to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. Unfortunately, I only used this bottle a few times because my baby didn't eat well with them. She spit throughout the entire feeding, and I don't think they really had any effect on gas/burping. I also didn't love the additional piece (for cleaning purposes and more clutter) and that the vent needed to be in a certain position while feeding. While putting the bottle together was easy, it was just not convenient. Overall, Avent has other bottles that I (and my baby) prefer.
