Philips Avent Dect Audio Baby Monitor SCD720/86

I didn't realize how much I needed a monitor until recently! I am a mom of two boys, 5 years old and a 15 month old. Up until recently, our 15 month old slept in a room with my husband and myself, but recently we transitioned him into a room with his older brother, and this is when we realized we needed a monitor. Luckily, I was given this Baby Audio Monitor to try as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel while we were in the mist of our search. This monitor hit all of the things we thought we needed. My favorite has been that I can remotely talk to my boys from the other room using the parent device. During the day, I am able to take the parent device with me downstairs without needing to make sure it's constantly plugged in (I usually keep it downstairs during the day so that I don't forget to grab it during nap time). The only thing that has thrown me off with this monitor is the eco mode, where the parent device will shut down until noise is detected in the baby's room. As a light sleeper, it startled me while it was next to me at night. All in all, this monitor is a great monitor if you just need an audio monitor.

This is an amazing audio monitor. My husband didn't know I got it, so when he hear our daughter in her room via the monitor in the kitchen he couldnt belive how clear the sound was. It's got amazing range and sounds crystal clear even from a distance. I love how easy it is to customize. My four month old loves the projections on the ceiling and the music. Everything can be set with a time limit. The soft need nightlight is a nice touch too. I love that both can be used with batteries or plugged in. Since it doesn't connect via Wi-Fi, I feel like it is very secure. I never thought I'd like a audio only monitor, but this one was a very nice surprise. I was given the Philips Avent Dect Audio Baby Monitor with Projector to try as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel. The first thing I noticed when setting it up was that the batteries that came with it for the handset were nearly impossible to open from the packaging and use (perhaps mine were defective?) but regular AAs worked just as well. My favorite feature was the music and the lightshow! My 18-month old absolutely loved them and they really helped him quiet down during our usual bedtime routine. The handset was easy to keep near me as I moved throughout the house while he napped or slept at night. The range was excellent, and the sound was crystal clear no matter where I was. And we never experienced any interference or static either. The one thing I wasn't thrilled with was the battery life on the base. It depleted within a day or two, which was a lot faster than I'd expected. That said, I did accidentally leave it on for a whole afternoon even after my son's nap which I'm sure didn't help. Overall, it was a quality product, and I'd recommend it!

I absolutely love this monitor! It was super easy to set up. I love the screen on the parent unit and that you can change the settings. The temperature, nightlight, and lullabies make some of our other nursery items not needed. The range is excellent, as we have a huge house and have had no issues. I am even able to go outside and still have full bars. What tops this off is the parent unit just sits on a base, so no need to have to fidget with wires when trying to charge this or remove it from the charger. I had no security issues with it. I was given this product to try as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel. Overall, it's a pretty great monitor! I actually already had the older model of this monitor, and found that the few updates Philips has made were improvements. The design is a little sleeker looking now that it comes in all white and has a clip on the back of the handheld unit as opposed to the older model that was partially blue and came with a string. We have no reason to question the security of this device, and the battery life on the handheld unit is excellent. We're not sure how long exactly it can last, but it can definitely go for a 12-hour stretch without needing re-charging. The options for setting notifications are very thorough; with a newborn, it was really helpful to be able to set it at high noise sensitivity and now that our child is older, we have turned the sensitivity down. There's also a wide volume range and I love the corresponding lights that light up according to the level of sound that's picked up. We haven't yet used the speaker feature very much, but the sound seems clear enough. My favorite aspect is that it shows the temperature of the room where the base unit is; as a new mom, I'm always concerned about air temperature vs. how many layers the kiddo needs! Tere are a few features that seem to be missing. There is no way to turn on/off the music from the handheld unit (which IS available on the European models). The ability to set a timer on the handheld unit would also come in handy. And for some reason, turning the handheld unit on takes several seconds which is just annoying. Overall, a truly reliable, adjustable, and stylish baby monitor!
