Philips Avent Natural Response Nipple, Slow Flow (Flow 2), 4-Pack, SCY962/44

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great set as an addition, a replacement, or as a flow upgrade for the Philips Avent bottles. They are easy to clean and simple to assemble. While they are not the softest nipple option available, they are shapely enough for my primarily breastfed baby not to mind. The bottle nipples do not drip when they aren't in use, and they also appear to hold up well over time (although the manufacturer recommends replacing them every 3 months). My exclusively breastfed baby only takes a few bottles a week when I am at work but she took to these nipples tips perfectly. I always like to go with a slower drip to not interfere with our breastfeeding journey and this drip flow was honestly perfect. It fit her mouth well, she was able to achieve a great latch and feed at a great pace. I definitely recommend these for anyone bottle feeding your little one to any degree. You will be pleased!

One of my favorite things about this nipple is the design — especially the lip that secures the nipple into the bottle lid. It fits so snugly that it completely prevents leaking and keeps air from sneaking in while my baby eats, which makes feeding feel a lot more controlled and mess-free. At first, it did take my baby a little while to adjust to the new nipple. He's always been bottle-fed, so the more breast-like design, and self controlled milk flow required a bit of a learning curve. But once he got the hang of it, I could really see the benefits — he's no longer gasping or choking while eating, which used to happen more often than I liked. He seems more comfortable, and feedings are smoother overall. The quality feels great, and I love that the nipple only releases milk when baby actively drinks. It gives him better control and has helped reduce spit-up and fussiness afterward. Definitely worth trying if you're looking to improve your baby's feeding experience. Our baby was not taking to the silicone bottles we used with his older sibling, but he took to the Philips avent bottles with #2 nipple right away. He is primarily breastfed and his suck, swallow, breathe pattern is great with these nipples as well. You can see his latch is wide just like with breastfeeding. The nipples don't drip, baby has to work for the milk to come through. I'm very happy to have these as an option especially as we dealt with bottle refusal with an older child!
