Why is it you buy a product, it works great first time use but after that it's all down hill!!!!! Have had many weed eaters in my day and was attracted to this Poulan because of the attachments and power of the unit. First time out of the box it was a beast, started right up and plowed through my weeds like a hot knife thru butter. I was very impressed but decided to wait a couple months to write a review, glad I did!!!! About two weeks later I pulled it out again to use and it was a different experience all together. Took forever to start, and after letting it warm up a bit, it would run 2-3 minutes then die, over and over again. What normally takes me 20 minutes to do took almost 2 hours. And I've got the blisters to prove it from pulling on the cord so many times!!!! Save your money and keep looking, this Poulan will give you blisters!!!

I bought the poulan pro pp335 straight shaft trimmer with 33cc motor. Initially it ran fine but about the third time of use it started to not run right and would not idle. I did what the manual suggested and adjusted the idle screw to no avail. It would run about 15 seconds and die. I returned the trimmer to walmart and exchanged it for the same model. Hats off to walmart on how easy it was to return and exchange. I started the new trimmer and instantly had the same problem as the first one. I started to return it again but decided to call PP customer support. They gave me a list of pp approved service centers. Customer support took about 10-15 min. not too bad. One of the service centers was just 5mi. away. I took the trimmer to service center and ultimately the problem was that the factory did not have the fuel filter connected to the fuel line. He put a new fuel filter and made some adjustments. After the repair it would run and idle but would not run at 1/4 to 1/2 throttle. So I took it back to the service center and he made some adjustments to the idle and the hi/lo screws and now runs great. I decided you get what you pay for when you try to go cheap. It seems that it is going perform just fine now. Time wil tell. I also read that if buy .130 replacement line in bulk it would fit the guide holes. I bought some and it does fit. YES! I was going through 2-3 lenghts each use.

I bought this weed eater thinking it would be cheap that would last a while. I was wrong. I had the product and used it maybe 5 times when the shaft broke. I had had it too long to return with warranty so I had it welded. I put the shaft back on the motor, it worked fine for a while then the place on the head where the shaft head attaches stripped or does not engage very well because I am having problems keeping the head turning. I do not know if it was just my luck of getting the junk weed eater of whether the whole design is junk. My advice, stay AWAY from this product.

This was my first and last Poulan. It comes wiyh a 2 year warranty, they just don't honor it. I used this trimmer about 2.5 hours a month. During the summer, when I took it in for repair I was told I used it excessivly and Poulan would not repair. In addition this unit is heavy! If you don't have back trouble you will.
