I use the controller for fps, driving, simulators, and other genres as well. This controller has a great grip, easy to access buttons, swappable face plates, swappable joysticks, and programmable buttons near the 4th and 5th finger. However, the controller is overpriced considering it doesn't have rumble/haptic-feedback, it has stopped holding a charge after 3 weeks of being used semi-regularly, and an easy way to contact customer service. Considering the PowerA controller weighs more than all the other controllers for Nintendo Switch that I own, which all have vibration, there is no reason that this controller should be any different.
I love this controller, the build quality is really good, it feels great in the hands, the buttons on the back are extremely useful, especially in games like Monster Hunter Rise for changing items or Breath of the Wild for changing weapons and sprinting. I would appreciate if the faceplate felt more solid though, it can slip around a bit while playing. Nothing that causes issues, but it detracts from the overall solid feel. Also, the lack of rumble is almost a killer. It's the only thing keeping this from being a 5 star review. I've been using this controller for a year and a half, and the lack of rumble is only thing that makes me want to use something else. If you don't care about rumble then this controller is basically perfect.
On the NS Switch, wireless is nice, but when playing on game like Fortnite, the speed of looking up, and down is VERY DIFFERENT. I can't seem to adjust it in settings. Whe I look up, it is fast, when I look down, it is very slow. The rebular controllers don't have a speed difference when looking up and down like this does.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pros: Removable faceplates Paddles are easy to map or remove Has Tilt Headphone jack Long charging cord Great case for storage Cons: No rumble, No NFC Need more options for thumbsticks This is a really nice controller for the Nintendo Switch. The faceplates are magnetic and are very easy to switch on and off. I feel like this would be great if you want to paint and customize the faceplate of your controller. The paddles are really simpleto map and re-map. They feel natural in your hand. It's also easy to remove any paddles that you aren't using or to remove the whole paddle unit, if you aren't interested in using them. The controller has a headphone jack so you can easily hookup your headset. It also comes with a long charging cable so you can keep playing while your controller charges. The carrying case is also great. It has spots for everything that comes with the controller and seems like it will stand up to being banged around. This controller comes with 4 thumbsticks. They are also easy to remove and replace, but the options are kind of disappointing. 3 of the 4 have the same texture, but are different heights. The 4th is a smooth, convex thumb-stick. I wish they had included other colors or textures for these thumb-sticks or that they had additional thumbstick packs that you could buy through PowerA to use with this controller. The most glaring omission for this controller is the lack of rumble. I don't know if this is something that Nintendo isn't allowing in third-party controllers, but I don't understand why they wouldn't include it in this controller otherwise. It is also missing the NFC reader, but that isn't a big deal for me since the console has it's own reader and it's something I rarely use.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Power Fusion Wireless controller for the switch is freakin awesome, I love the fact that its wireless and you don't have to use a cord to play it, also its super sleek and soft to handle instead of bulky hard controllers that other companies have.
