Powermate 3” Chipper Shredder

II purchased.it primarily to shred oak leaves and it will not do it without having to feed small sticks with the leaves accord to the technical support people.. Look for other brands if you expect to easily shred leaves

mine shaft broke it didnot handle 2 to 3 inch limbs it was 1 month out of warrenty they said to bad could not help me

I've used the chipper quite a bit since I bought it and I think my purchase was a good one. Quite a bit of quality for the price. If I could change one thing though, I'd change the starting configuration. When you pull the cord to start the chipper, the entire chipping mechanism has to turn along with the engine so it's a little hard to pull the cord. It would be nice if there were some type of clutch to disengage while starting. Otherwise it's a great machine.

Cleaning up our property of huge amounts of leaves and small branches was always a chore until we purchased this chipper shredder. It works great! I ran it at part throttle with no load for roughly 2 hours then with light loads (leaves) at almost full throttle for the remaining three hours of the break in period. Changing the oil after the first 5 hours was super easy and not messy. Instead of having to cart away the yard waste we now have a real nice mulch for gardens and flower beds. We love this machine.
