Prang Charcoal Pencil Set

This style of charcoal pencil has been a staple in my kit for years and I am pleased to say that this set from Prang is the best I can recall. The quality is exceptionally high and smooth. I've yet to encounter a errant hard piece that tears at paper and don't think I will. They are dense and that provides for a rich black with staying power.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are smooth and blend-able. I enjoyed shading with these a lot. they are also easily resharpened, for lack of a better word. All you have to do is pull the string and it unravels for more charcoal. I enjoyed how smooth this was, no grit or crumbles, nice and smooth. Over all, I would definitely recommend this product to my friends and family.

They draw very smoothly and don't leave behind specks that flake off while drawing. They are easy to sharpen as they are self sharpening, just pull the little string to expose more lead, no need for messy pencil sharpeners. And when blended correctly, they blend flawlessly and smoothly. I like the way the paper wrapping feels in my hand while sketching, it seems sturdier than traditional pencils. I honestly do not think I will ever go back to using any other type of pencil to sketch with.
