There may be better brushes but I'm sure you would have to pay a great deal more. This brush holds a lot of water/paint, doesn't drip, can make a fine point to a wide swath, and is all around the handiest brush I own. I own one other Princeton Neptune, an oval wash, and it convinced me to order this brush. If you don't have a quill, this is the one you want.

I bought this as my last size 8 was losing it's point. This brush handles nicely, comes to a sharp point, and blends well. The length of the head is a little shorter than other brushes, but that doesn't seem to be an issue. The handle is well balanced. It's too soon to tell if the sharp point will stay. So far, happy with this purchase.

I got this brush because I needed a brush to be able to wash and apply water to smaller, yet larger for a normal brush adequately soak the paper. This brush works well enough, however, I docked one star because it doesn't hold quite as much water as I had hoped for a Princeton. I love the look and the handle make a beautiful overall appearance but the performance is not quite up to PAR for what I wanted. I would perhaps recommend this for very small wash areas, or for work that requires less damp wetness.

My first squirrels type hair brush which made me a bit nervous of how I would like the brush. I love it! It feel like how I think woatercoloring should feel. Soft and delicate. Holds a huge amount of water and paint making washes a breeze and fast. With the point it is also very easy to make small lines and/or drop in small drops of paint or water. Now I want to try more of the Neptune brushes!
