The Propel Maximum Battle X – 2 pack of drones or quadrocopters are an intermediate level drone – not for first timers – and the recommended age group for use is 14 and up. They feature elaborate remote controls with 2.4 Ghz. The coolest part of these is that they are battling drones – that allow up to 8 different drones/players to fly/play/fight at the same time. The drones come in assorted colors too – so telling the difference shouldn't be a problem. Unfortunately, before you can fight – you have to know how to fly – and these are complicated controllers. Propel claims they feature a 6 axis gyro keeps the Battle X stable – however myself (47), my older son (14), and younger son (12) all had problems keeping these aloft – a lot of practice is ahead. Synching sometimes is an issue between the controller and drone. Fortunately, these Battle X drones are outdoor capable as well as indoor – so more room to fly. Also – they come with a bunch of extra propellers for replacement parts. Additionally – the Propel Maximum Battle X comes with UNLIMITED REPLACEMENT PARTS FOR 1 YEAR WARRANTY – try finding that in another drone out there – let alone at this price point!! After our many flight attempts – which were immediately followed by many crash landings – the Propel Maximum Battle X stood up to the abuse with no signs of wear. These are tough and sturdy drones! The controls feature advanced infrared battling and 1 button 360 degree stunt rolls as well as 2 speed settings. The removable Lion battery is found by lightly squeezing the pilot's chamber --- it then plugs into a supplied USB charger base – so replacement batteries should be available I would think. Charging took about 40 minutes and resulted in about 5-6 minutes of flight time. Requires you to supply 3 AA batteries for each controller. Controllers feature fire & stunt buttons on front. 2 joysticks for left-right and up-down. 4 way trim control buttons. Reverse & headless buttons. Low and high speed buttons. Calibration button, and on-off switch. Chrome paint job on drones is pretty sleek - ours came in chrome silver and chrome red! Should be a ton of fun provided we figure out how to fly them better!!
