Honestly I bought these same boots about a year ago and they were great. So I bought them again again they are awful. There is a plastic shank that goes from the heal up half way. If my sock slips and I pull it up their will alter how the inside is and the plastic shank will rub my Achilles tendon. To correct the issue I have to take the boot all the way off and put it back on. Waste of money considering all I do is walk 12 hours up and down ballast. Been wearing them two weeks and the interior stitching is starting to fail.
Great alternative to what we have to wear with our Type III uniform. I use it for EDC and it's holding up great so far. Closest to the condor Jackson boot which disappeared off the planet.
I've owned a pair of Propper 6" Black Series 100s for about 2 years and they are still going strong. On a whim I decided to try these 8" Series 100 Coyote and from the moment I put them on I knew I had made a wise choice. The extra 2" height really adds to ankle stability. After I played with the lacing and got the right tension I was off to the races. The extra insert is helpful for proper fitting but you can also achieve this by loosening up the lacing on one foot over the other for the appropriate tension and fit. I would say that the "Non-Slip" reference for the tread is not correct. They are extremely slick when you first wear them and especially on wet concrete so make sure to scuff them up by sliding them while walking for a bit and they are fine. I actually just bought 2 more pairs to keep one backup brand new and another in my vehicle to always be ready for a spontaneous ruck. A word on fitting - some reviews mention that they do not fit properly. That is all dependent on the wearer. They fit me perfectly even though I have one foot slightly wider than the other. As I noted before just play with the lacing. The trick is to get the right size so that you don't have excessive looseness while allowing for foot swelling while wearing all day.
I bought these because I also have the waterproof version of this boot which I'm very happy with for winter use. I assumed the would be great for warmer weather, but they have a slightly tight fit and don't seem to breathe well.
I'm on my 2nd looking to get my 3rd pair. I work in a heavy use industry that chews up boots. I can confidently say that these boots hold up very well. Most other brands I replace my boots once or twice a year. I still have my first pair for use if I get my 2nd soaked from water to deep. These boots are the only pair of shoes I wear, 10-18 hours a day 7 days a week. Absolutely comfortable and dependable.
