Protege 29" 2-Section Large Rolling Duffel- Charcoal Black & Grey

I really wanted to give this five stars but it did fall short of some expectations I had after reading others reviews before buying. The first day I had it I packed it for a 3 day trip in the middle of my bed. When I pulled the full duffle toward me by one of the handles on the top , one of the seems (there are only two) that holds the handles on ripped. Now the upside. I decided to keep it because it made it through my 3 day trip quite well and I really don't use the handles much because most of the time you can roll it. So for 30 bucks not bad.

Took this on a 10 day vacation and had plenty of room for my clothes. I saved the area on the bottom for my laptop computer and other extras. The zippers all functioned easily and the wheels and handle were very handy for pulling the suitcase in and out of hotels. The exterior wipes down easily if needed.

I bought this duffle because it weighs 8 lbs less than my large suitcase.It survived a trip which included 4 bus, 1 rail, and 4 airline transfers with almost no damage. A small perforation in the end which stands up occurred. Packing and unpacking took a little getting used to because of the separate bottom. I found that it works more easily if you completely pack either the top or the bottom before packing the other section. I wish it had a larger top opening. It's also more awkward to maneuver than a standard suitcase. I think the next smaller size would have worked better for me in that respect. It does hold a lot and I brought 4 bottles of wine back with no breakage. I will probably use it again because of the weight aspect, but I prefer a standard suitcase for the packing and maneuvering aspect.

Very spacious, many convenient compartments and steady on its wheels. Could have used one or more zipped compartments inside the main section and the zippers could be of a bit better quality but I'm just nitpicking. Comes in at just about 50 lbs. when fully packed... and you can pack a lot!

I bought this rolling duffel to replace a luggage set I bought about 5 years ago. A friend has three of these and can pack a months worth of clothing for three women between them. I used this rolling duffel to go back overseas and it handled the task well. No damage, still looks great, everything still works. I actually had a months worth of clothes and uniforms and all fit well. The shoe storage underneath is great for keeping the clothes clean. Well worth the money. The handles can be used as shoulder straps if you have to hurry to catch a flight.
