PUR Classic Pitcher Water Filter with LED 7 Cup, CR-6000C

Our town's water source is a mixture of lake water and well water. The well water makes the water taste bad. We have been buying distilled water and was hoping the PUR CR-6000C would remove the bad taste. The unit was priced in the store for $5 (including cartridge) so took a chance. The first batch of water I put through it was the distilled water. I found that the PUR did not change the taste of the distilled water which tells me that there is nothing in the cartridge that makes good water taste bad as has been reported. The second batch was tap water. The PUR did make a noticeable difference but not enough to continue using it. The lid is a little difficult to remove from the blue top section but if you push it up where it meets the handle it's not all that difficult. It would be nice to have a cover for the spout but not a big issue for me. It all gets down to taste. I'll try a Brita to see if their cartridges work better.

I didn't realize how bad my tap water tasted until I got this pitcher. The filtered water tastes good, especially chilled in the 'fridge where it fits perfectly in the door shelf. I'm definitely glad I bought it.

I don't want to jinx, but right now this PUR pitcher far meets my expectations. I read so many mixed reviews on this product before I bought it so I wasn't sure but I took a risk and I am glad I bought it. Mine even came with an extra filter, so two total, which is great! It doesn't leak, the top is secured but easy to remove to fill back up, electronic change light works, water tastes very good, and easy to install the filter. I used to buy everything Brita, the soft squeeze & hard sided bottles for adults and kids. The soft squeeze ones got so gross quick because the top was always exposed. Then I upgraded to the hard sided ones and it just would not stop breaking on me. Every single bottle. I clean it, the water doesn't suck up. I put the top down for hygiene when out and about like it is made to do, the water doesn't suck up. It got so annoying. I wasn't even going to risk buying a Brita pitcher because I just now think their products are not made good. Honestly, poorly made. Overall, I am so happy I went with this PUR pitcher. I would absolutely recommend this to everyone! I have only been using it for about 2-3 weeks, so I only hope it continues to work great!!!

EVERYTHING SEEMS GOOD SO FAR . A LITTLE MORE CLEAR DIRECTIONS COULD BE USEFUL IE HAWFAR TO FILL THE PITCHER , SHOULD YOU REFILL AFTERT EACH GLASS ???? THAT IS IT FOR NOW.
