Purina Pro Plan Prime Plus, Grain-Free Turkey and Giblets, Wet Cat Food, 3 oz Can

My Furbaby loves Pro Plan Prime Plus! She's 14 years old now and very picky about the texture and taste of her food. This is the one she runs and Meows for. I definitely recommend you check it out for your furbaby. It's approved by my girl and she is a fussy eater.

Despite the fact that price continues to rise and since Covid supply is very limited in my geographic area, the Turkey formula is my cats favorite of the Prime 7+ offerings. As long as they all eat it, and it stays in their stomachs and not on the rug, I'm a fan.

I'm a vet, I don't work for Purina (I'm a neighborhood vet) and I didn't get this food free. I first found out about the studies behind the prime plus line several years ago-- before it was even commercially available. I was excited when it first came to market because I believe in science based nutrition and not many companies have an actual commitment to nutritional research. I don't want my pets to be the first test! The data behind this food is good, I don't know another food that has this long of a study behind it-- 9 years is more than half the lifespan of an average cat (about 12 years). Although it is studied on Senior cats, I have started feeding it to my kittens as one of their meals. Nothing about this food makes me believe it can only be fed to older cats; that's just the group that the study was done in. The only complaint I have about this food is that it is only available in these tiny little cans. With two kittens that is a lot of cans per day. I would like a 5.5 oz can that I could split between the boys for each meal.

I buy this for my 16.5 year old Himy and he loves it; this flavor and all the other grain-free varieties.

Having older cats, a couple of them had issues and my vet said I may want to try cat food for older cats. I bought a variety pack of the 7+ Prime Plus food. The cats immediately loved the taste of the food, and after a month on this food they appear to be doing a bit better.
