Purina Pro Plan Prime Plus Dry Cat Food Salmon Rice, 5.5 lb Bag

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purina is such a good company and have veterinarians that specialize and make their careers just in nutrition, so I really trust them. This seems to be one of their higher quality, more advanced foods. After looking at the ingredients - the very first of which was salmon!- and the reasoning behind each, I was really impressed. They seemed to have thought out the special needs of older cats, and I truly felt good about giving this to my guy. He loved eating it to, though to be honest he's not terribly picky. I would recommend this to those with kitties over 7.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My cats LOVED this food. Typically I buy them chicken flavored Blue Buffalo so I was unsure if they would like this salmon flavor. I tried to introduce the new food to them slowly but noticed they quickly ate all the Purina Pro and completely ignored the Blue Buffalo. They emptied they dish quickly and were excited for their next meal. I like how the product is specifically for older cats as my cats are 7 and 10. They seemed to digest the food well and I think they threw up less frequently while eating this than they did with their other food.

My older cat completely cleaned the bowl and was very enthusiastically licking the empty bowl when it was done. For my part, I didn't notice a fishy odor which is nice because I don't like the smell of fish, so my cats don't normally get fish flavored items.

All 3 of my cats have been eating Purina dry food for years (the indoor formula in the green bag) and they all seem to prefer it, and will go as far as to turn their noses up when we try to switch to something else. They definitely liked this, which I was happy about. They are getting up in age, so we are thinking about switching them to this food permanently as long as we can find it on a regular basis. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My baby girl is a little over ten years old so I really like that this is for the mature kitties! This also came at the perfect time since I was considering changing her food! I already use Purina products because it's a trusted brand by vets so this transition was easy! I love that it has probiotics and she seems to love it too!
