It is hard keeping the windshield clean on my F150. We live on a farm in Central Illinois and I have no garage. There have been several times I didn't realize just how dirty my window was on the way to work until it was too late. This has been my convient, easy way to clear my windshield without having to make a quick stop at a gas station. It's easy to use and works well. I now keep a bottle of this in my truck for when I need it. Great product!
My boyfriend is very particular about the products he uses to clean with. A lot of glass cleaners he's used have left streaks behind and some leave a residue. However, this Rain-X 2-in-1 Glass Cleaner & Rain Repellant left neither. The rain beads up and runs right off. It also helps to reduce the use of wipers. I definitely recommend this product.
Well I don't have to buy a bottle of windex and rain repellent in separate bottles. I can just get it in one bottle. Spray it on your windshield and wipe it off just like you would windex. I used a paper towel. It did fine. The color is clear and it's not soapy. Like windex is. . No smell. It's like water in a bottle. But it cleans and it really does make rain bead up on the windshield and windows. Allow a hour before its exposed to rain. So don't do it on a day that's calling for rain and then wonder why it doesn't work. Geez. There are people out there like that. It has 16 fl oz. It helps sleet snow ice and bugs. Its heading into winter right now, I haven't got the chance to see how it works with snow. But if it works good like it does with rain, then I believe it will help snow or ice stick less.
I recently picked up this bottle of Rain-X 2-in-1 Glass Cleaner & Rain Repellant from walmart and it's the only brand I trust for "rain-proofing" your windshield. Other knock off brands dont hold up as long or as well as this Rain-X. It comes in a 16 ounce spray bottle which tends to last me a bit longer, and it is easy to apply to the windshield. I prefer to wash my car before applying it, just spray on a nice layer evenly across your windshield then wipe off. Takes me 5 or 10 minutes and it lasts several months depending on the weather conditions. It typically lasts longer in the warmer months for me since I'm not scrapping ice off the glass every day. It is great for those monsoon rainstorms when you need all the help you can get to keep water off the glass. Overall this is the best rain repellant spray I've found out there and will always recommend it to anyone looking for something that gets the job done right.
I've put this on several windows to try to test the water resistance. All of them mysteriously had smeary handprints appear. My young son seems to have a deep rooted dislike of clean Windows. Mostly he just really likes smearing water around on wet glass and no surface is left untouched. By sticky muddy hands. For my purposes this did not hold it's water resistance. Under normal circumstances perhaps it performs better? I have a hard time believing this holds up to windshield wipers and road grit when it didn't stand up to a small collagen. To be fair, small children can do great and terrible things.
