I have very thick hair that loves to frizz, but with this straightener it doesn't frizz anymore. Also, it straightens my hair fast so I don't have to be in the bathroom straightening forever. Total time to straighten for me (I have shoulder length hair) is about 5-7 minutes. Every remington hair straightener I have tried I have fallen in love with. This is by far my favorite and I believe it works just as well if not better than the chi..and much cheaper! The only negative thing about this hair straightener I would say is on the box it says it heats in 30 seconds...To get to the full 430* on mine it takes about 5 minutes but stays hot the entire time I straighten so I can deal with the time delay.

So I have a Herstyler ( works wonderfully ! if you take care of it, but I've had it now over two years, and it has it knicks & cracks ) I was looking to buy a new hair straightener and was reading these reviews, thought why not go buy it ? Well when straightening you need to make sure you but the keys in LOCK. When heating to over 410 it takes atleast 10 minutes ! When i straighten my hair I use a comb and the straightener. It pulled my hair at the bottom cracks, when I would leave the house my hair would not look straight at all . I have normal, frizzy/wavy hair . I would not recommend this product at all !

This is the very best staightener I have ever used. I had one here at my home that my daughter and I were sharing and she moved out and I gave her this straightener. I was using another one for about two days and knew I had to go purchase another one. It wasn't in my Wal Mart cause it was sold out. I got online and found were it was and traveled to the next city to get it. It is a great product and I would recommend it to anyone.

My Chi recently died on me (conveniently right after my warranty expired). I researched this straightener and most reviews were favorable, so therefore I decided to try it out as well. I have very think, wavy hair and the chi always did a wonderful job. This new one does get it straight, but as another customer pointed out, it does pull the end strands of your hair in this little crack/hole at the end of the ceramic heating plates. Plus, I don't know if it's just me, but heating up to and remaining stable at 430 degrees takes FOREVER. I plug it in and then blowdry my hair completely, and it still isn't all the way to 430. I do like the LED screen, lock feature, and lock hinge for the straightener itself, but it also doesn't give you much surface area between the on/off button and the heating plates. So, I am constantly near-burning my thumb when i'm doing my hair. Overall, it is not completely horrible for $40 and the four year warranty is nice. However, I miss my chi and it's quick heat-up and it never pulled my hair, but I guess until I get another $160 to throw around, I can just suck it up and stick with the remington.

i just recently bought this flat iron along with a conair infinti 1"(40.00). i tryed out both of them, the conair pulled my hair and left it very frizzy. i used the remington and it left my hair sliky, shinny and flat. i love this product. i have very thick natural curly hair i was considering a CHI only because my girlfriend does hair for a living and i love the way my hair turns out after she uses the CHI. but agian i cannot afford a CHI at 120 plus$. that is rediculous. i have a 6 month old baby and i am not working so price and quality were a big factor. also it takes me have the time to do my hair. i would say this remington is very comparable to a CHI if not better. hope people find is helpful..one more thing there is a four year warranty with this flat iron as to were a CHI is only one year..
