[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Revlon ColorSilk Beautiful Color Hair Color proved interesting. I've always liked the idea of dying my hair different colors, but never did it much coming up because my allergies can be odd and back then the dyes were very strong. Nowadays however, hair color can contain beneficial ingredients --things that actually strengthen your hair follicles and help repair the damage other products can do. This hair color contains keratin which is supposed to do just that, bond with it & help make your hair healthier. Even so, I did a test spot on my arm first to check for a potential reaction. I chose brown (my base color is black) because I was told stepping down a shade can make covering gray easier. This worked pretty well, but I think I need a warmer shade.

I haven't colored my hair in a while and wanted to do a change but still keep it natural so this was the perfect opportunity and I'm glad I did. The color is beautiful and I got a pretty good coverage on my grays. I did have to purchase an extra box of dye as I do have a bit longer hair and I wanted to make sure I got everything fully covered. I think I'll be buying again and I recommend this 10/10

Would not recommend this product. I used 2 boxes of the black hair dye and within 2 days my scalp was covered in open sores, blisters, scabs. The backs of my ears are blistered. I have non stop fluid draining down my scalp. It has now been over a week of dealing with this pain and itchyness. It doesnt stop there though. My entire back looks as if I have chicken pox from washing the dye out and it running down my back, i have little red spots that look like pimples but are extremely itchy, and the spots continue down my legs, feet, chest, stomach, arms and neck.... and super ITCHY! I've spoken with hair stylists about this reaction and everyone said the same thing that something must've been mixed wrong with the developer for it to cause that much damage to much skin. I have been dying my hair with box dye since I was 15 years old, i am 33 now and I have never had this happen before. Something needs to get looked into with this product as to what I've seen from other consumers.

I use to love them there colors turn out amazing but they changed there formula which I was not aware of now my hair is so itchy and won't stop no matter how many times I wash my hair I am not allergic to there dye which in unfortunate
