Riproar Creation Station

I was very excited to give my son the Creation Station. I was not expecting Hollywood worthy equipment, but I did expect better quality than it was. It was impossible to use. Everytime you tried to work on the software, a message was dispayed that said the "Camera must be connected to the USB port" even though it was already connected. One of my children attend one of the top computer schools in the country and his major is computer engineering and he could not get this item to work. I would not recommend anyone suffer the frustration that we had with this product.

This product was very hard to use. Never quite figured out how to edit movies and use special effects. The recorder itself was very cheaply made. Returned product. Bought the product for $85 w/taxes. When I returned it after Christmas it was selling for $35. That should tell you something. Luckily I had my receipt! (the only reason it got any stars was because I couldn't leave blank)

The RipRoar Video Creation Station is a fun way to create your own videos using their enclosed "green screen" and software. The product worked well as advertised and has allowed my 11 year old son (for whom it was purchased) to create several funny and well done videos. What I would like to have known before I bought it is that the camera MUST be connected to the computer where the software is installed in order to use it, and the camera resolution isn't fantastic (though it's not bad for the price). The rendering time of the video depends on the user-determined setting (which is easy to do in software), so you get a great deal of control on how fast the process goes. The tips for use from the software, users guide and website are both useful and easy to understand, and provided great results. The biggest problem I had was installation of the software on a Vista machine - but a visit to the website provided in the users manual yielded the necessary installation and driver software. (Internet connection was crucial for me getting it to work...) The project editing tab in the software is the most difficult thing to use (although it's use is easy compared to other video editing software) and has enough features that allow for the production of simple videos to fairly complex multi-effect projects. The videos that result are of better-than-expected quality for posting on sites like YouTube, and it really allows you to expand what's possible with 'home video projects'!

DO NOT BUY THIS!! I just took it back today to get a better one. This camera is poorly made and does not work with all computers. any other cameras work much better and also do the same thing I would recomend looking for a different camera

We could not get it work on either my computer or my sons. This product is made to only work with a new computer and our which work very well are 6yrs old. I will be returning the product for a refund, very disapointed with this product.
