Pretty sturdy construction, but the trays don't even hold standard coloring books for children, plus I do not think they are going to hold up to the abuse that children put them through. The unit is a lot smaller than I expected, but sturdy. I thought the assembly was cumbersome.

I'm furnishing a playroom and have put 6 pieces of furniture together today. This tiny shelf took 2 hours. Compared to all the other products I assembled, this was by far the worst. The instructions aren't easy to follow, but the worst thing is there are only 4 screws holding the whole shelf together, the rest is just dowels. The first screw is placed in step 4, by which you're supposed to have 5 pieces of wood held together with dowels... good luck doing this alone! They constantly fall over. The back is held on with 22 screws... why not nails like every other piece of furniture? there are no pilot holes and it's very difficult to line up in the center, the screws often go in slightly crooked then break through the wood. The finished product looks decent enough but is obviously cheap. i paid less than $40 on sale and wouldn't pay a cent more.

It's really cute and my sons love it. It looks a lot smaller than expected but it holds a lot of toys. I've only filled up 2 bins with toys so far and our play area looks so much neater. Works great for small monster trucks and baby toys. It was easy to put together, however I did think their was one part of the directions that was confusing. There are these metal screw type things that I first didn't use correctly. You have to screw them into the side panels first instead of tightening them into the metal tightner thing. I had to then find pliers to undo them. Thank goodness they came out! Overall, I'm a pretty proud mom that I put it together all by myself! Took less than an hour!
