On the Stove: 1. In a sauce pan, bring water to a boil (add tub margarine and salt if desired). 2. Stir in rice. 3. Cover. Reduce heat and simmer for 45 minutes or until water is absorbed. In the Microwave: (It is recommended that only 1 cup rice be prepared in the microwave at a time. Microwave ovens vary. Cooking times are approximate.) 1. Combine 3 - 1/2 cups hot water, 1 cup brown rice, 1 tbsp vegetable oil (optional) in a 2-quart glass microwave dish. 2. Microwave on High for 35 minutes uncovered. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving. Caution: Dish will be very hot. Cooking Measurement Chart: (For drier rice, use 1/4 less water. For moister rice, use 1/4 cup more water.)
