Human Milk Fortifier, Powder 50 - 0.031 oz (0.90 g) packets [1.55 oz (45 g)] Similac Human Milk Fortifier is intended for low-birth-weight infants as a nutritional supplement to add to mother's milk. Use under supervision of a doctor. To Open Packet: Tear open as indicated. Proper hygiene, handling, and storage are important when preparing fortified human milk. Failure to follow these directions could result in severe harm. Powdered infant formulas are not sterile and should not be fed to premature infants who might have immune problems unless directed and supervised by a physician. 1. Shake container of human milk. 2. Pour desired quantity of human milk into sterile container. 3. Add 1 packed of Similac Human Milk Fortifier to: 50 ml human milk (adds 3 Cal/fl oz); or 25 ml human milk (adds 4 Cal/ fl oz). 4. Gently shake and feed. Storage: Cover prepared, unused fortified human milk immediately. Store in refrigerator and use within 8 hours or according to normal hospital procedures for handling human milk up to a maximum of 24 hours. Shake before using.
