I bought this unit 23 months ago. The first one arrived dead on arrival, but there was no problem with obtaining a replacement. Now the replacement has died. It's past the 1 year complete warranty, but since the compressor failed it should be covered under the 5 year warranty. I called Royal Sovereign. I can ship it to them for $95.00 (!) or almost half the cost of the unit. There are only 2 authorized service centers in the entire state of Virginia. The nearest authorized service center is 30 miles away. I called them and they do not service this product because they can't get parts! The next service center is too far to be worthwhile. I will not buy from this company again!

The product arrived with one small problem probably caused during shipping. The automatic pump did not kick in when set up. I suspected it was caused by a sensor float being caught up somewhere inside the reservoir. I called the 1-800 help line, they agreed, & was asked to shake the dehumidifier back & forth a few times. That solved the problem. The auto-defrost is a good thing to have when installing a dehumidifier in a previously unserviced area. A few defrost cycles happened as the product brought the high humidity down to a comfortable level. Reducing the humidity % setting in steps on the way down helped, and the level is now permanently lowered & remains even. Just set it & leave it.

It saves me a lot of time and energy. No more lifting heavy bucket! No more spill on floor! This is my second one. I put one in basement and one on the first floor. A bit expensive. But it is quieter than the traditional one.

The specifications of this unit are great. The problem is that when I received the unit, it was DOA - Dead on Arrival. It would not power on at all.
