Royal P60 Electric Pencil Sharpener

Mine broke so I'm taking it apart for physics but I need an owners manual.

I am a first grade teacher to 25 students. This is the best pencil sharpener I have purchased so far. Within 3 months my students have managed to break three sharpeners. This one has been awesome! It sharpens the pencil very sharp like the hand crank ones. I love it. There is a light that comes on for the students to know when it is sharp. Great product and great value!

I bought two of these at my local Sam's store - one for my own office, and one for a 3rd grade teacher. The one at my office works perfectly. I've used it 5 weeks now. My colored drafting pencils are sharpened to a nice point with no excess waste due to the sharp indicator light. It's small and has a tiny little pencil holder on the side that is convenient. The one at the school... It's only been in use for 2 full weeks, but the teacher LOVES it! I've had 3 other teachers ask where I got it. The only reason that I am not giving it 5 stars for quality is that I wish that the shavings container held more. You have to empty it fairly often to prevent the shavings from getting high enough to interfere with the function. As for value, I've bought more expensive pencil sharpeners that didn't work nearly as well. I have sharpened hundreds of pencils as a volunteer at an elementary school, so I've tried a LOT of pencil sharpeners. I have read the bad reviews, and may have to adjust this review in the future. However, for now, I'm 100% satisfied with this product.

It is a nice pencil sharpener. I like the fact that it has sharpener opening on top and it has a slide out emptying tray. I think that the tray could have been bigger and the motor more powerful. But overall for what I paid for it it is a good deal and meets my needs in my personal home office. I wouldn't recommend it for a business that would use it a lot more often than I do at home. Royal is a good brand, the main reason why I chose it. I had a Royal in the past and was really happy with it until my daughter decided to put a crayon it an ruined it. This was a replacement.

I bought this pencil sharpener in October 2012. Within about 2 months, I noticed that my pencils were not getting sharpened. I use the sharpener everyday to sharpen 2 or 3 pencils for my 8 year old son. So not a lot of wear and tear on the product. I also noticed that after not using the sharpener for a while (I went back to using the one I had before which was loud and not a very good sharpener), it started sharpening my pencils again. Now it is April 2013 and I am back to the sharpener not sharpening pencils. I can no longer deal with this merry-go-round sharpener and I am shopping for a new one. The sharpener is nice and quiet, but not reliable at all even for someone who minimally uses it.
