Bought this item a week ago in lieu of an igloo cooler and i disappointed in the way the lid seals. It appears to be faulty and does not seal with only a semi 1/4 turn. Any slight jostling and the liquid inside will spill.
Rubbermaid, What is the process for getting a replacement lid?? Looks like I’m on the same boat as everyone else here. I’ve had my cooler for just about 2 years and the lid flew off. I’m bummed out bc I use it a lot. I would give it 5 stars but the lid seams to catch wind even when it’s on there tight. I had flown off twice before but I was able to recover it the first 2 times. I’ll have to figure out a way to hold it down next time.
Love the size and the fact that it keeps the contents cold. It isn’t our first cooler, but just like the last one, on a windy day, the lid flew off! Just really disapointed that we have to buy a whole new cooler since the lids arr almost impossible to find or extremely high priced. Hold on to your lids people!!!! I would recommend this is the lids where made inna way that they would stay on securely.
I can't believe this! I am not the only one who has had their lid fly off! All I can figure is the wind blows across the divots or channels in the top of the lid creating the winds ability to unscrew it. I wonder how many rubbermaid cooler lids are lying along our highways and byways! LOL.. Can't I just buy a simple lid??
We bought 20 of these for our bicycling club and in two years, have seen six lids lost. They are fine if transported inside a vehicle but in the wind, the lids come off and fly away. I'm disappointed that Rubbermaid has not modified the design after many reports of lost lids and also doesn't offer a lid replacement option.
