Just follow the instructions and if you need to apply extra coating just go for it for a perfect finish. My old kitchen cabinets look lot nicer fresh and more lightened up!

I do suggest you prep the cabinets very thoroughly before continuing on with the other steps. A lot of elbow grease and following each step is very important to achieve perfect results. It is a lot of work but the results are much better than what I was expecting. My cabinets look brand new at a fraction of the cost of replacing them. The Rust-Oleum Cabinet Transformations Kit is perfect for the Do It Yourself types. 1 kit was more than enough to do all my kitchen cabinets. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Sometimes you have perfectly good cabinets (and/or don't want to go theough the cost and hassle of replacing them). This kit is even less work than I had originally anticipated, as it doesn't require sanding or stripping of the cabinets prior to application. There's a cleaning agent to apply, as well as the paint itself (tintable, but I stuck with the white), and a finishing coat. I found it to apply smoothly with a brush. It went a long way, too!
