After reading all the reviews on this seat, I was really excited to get it in my car. Installation was a bit tricky but after reading many blogs online, we finally found the correct installation. For rear-facing infants, you need to remove the base and it installs tightly with the Latch system. Hopefully this will save someone much time and trouble installing this seat. I have it in a Kia Spectra and it's large, but fits fine.
I had this item on my registery for my daughter(now 2yrs). It was a little confusing to install but it worked out well. My son is 6 months old and a big boy (20lbs). My husband and I just purchased another 2 carseats for him to use. If you like an "all-in-one" package, this is the seat for you. The price, durability, safety features, and comfort for the kids makes this my number one choice.
First let's talk about installation... OMG! You pretty much need a degree in engineering. I've had 5 people look at it and I'm still not sure if I have it right. It just seems too difficult the way I have it set up. This seat has 4 modes. The first is made for an infant (rear-facing). You take the head pad off of the seat for the second mode. You take more padding off for toddler mode, then it turns into a booster seat. I have my 9 month in the second mode. It looks very uncomfortable for her to sit with the padding that is on there, I've considered taking it off, but I'm afraid the seat will be too big for her then. It makes her sit very upright. I've reclined the seat as much as possible, but she can't sleep comfortably in it. I would love to know what car or cars (if multiple) this seat was tested in. I drive a '98 Buick Century. I don't have the latches for the straps, so I use just the seatbelt. I was hoping this seat would be like my infant carrier, because it didn't budge in the car, but this is hardly the case. I have the seatbelt tightened as much as I can and it slides side to side. This seat is also bulky in size, so I would not recommend it to anyone with a need for multiple carseats. We tried it already. I'm thinking maybe this seat is only good for certain vehicles. I can't afford another seat right now, so I'm stuck.
My 2 almost 3 year old has had this car seat since she was a 1 year and loves it!! We looked around for a convertible carseat for quite some time because most felt extremly uncomfortable even just to press on, since we do alot of traveling due to my husbands career we wanted something comfortable for our child. And so far I have no complaints nor does my 2 year old!! Would highly recommend it!
i bought this one because my sister-in-law said it was a good brand and my 7 month old had well outgrown hus infant carrier. my son absoutly loves it he doesnt fuss anymore when we go on long car rides, whic happens a lot since i live an hour away from town. it was slightly difficult to install though i was lucky i had small hands. other than that this is a great carseat for the price i paid.
