This is, I'd have to say, at least one of the best phones, as it does not get very hot, very easily, it does very well with battery, and the ultra power saving mode is a life saver if needed. Charges pretty fast, and very good quality of parts, including speakers, and cameras. I also love the enhanced finger tips detection, much better than the previous generations one.
I got the Gold Platinum edition when it came out in April which still has me stunned of how great it looks. Galaxy S6 has quality & quantity & very well improved from the last Galaxy phones I've had. Very quick & sharp. No freezes or app closes since I've started using it. Feels good when holding & picture quality is also on point. Has app resizing for certain apps that comes in handy when multitasking and a favorite feature of mine thus far is the non interruption of the phone app while ringing taking over the whole display while in other apps. Wireless charger makes battery life (which is not so great) easy to maintain. Solid effort by Samsung.
got the s6 and was not impressed, it was a downgrade from the s5 active, no sd slot or water proof, cant have my phone around my pool, and there is no difference in the s6 besides losing a lot of features and not able to change a lot of stuff on my lock screen and backing my phone up on kies, the s5 does it all and more so I when back to my s5.
This is my first (and last) Samsung. I switched from HTC, and I am very disappointed with the heavy-handed Samsung software. It adds an annoying time delay to simple functions like viewing text messages and launching Google now. This is supposed to be the latest and greatest octa-core processor, and even that can't overpower the poorly implemented software. Also, the physical button is constantly waking up the phone by accident, and that can't be disabled. Why do I need to be able to wake the phone with the home button? There's already a button for that!
The phone is of no value without battery life. Purchased phone new last week during a business trip and noted zero battery by 5PM each and every day. The phone is used for navigation both for work and play and cannot continue to use a phone without battery life sufficient to get me home end of day. The primary focus for navigation is via foot and via mass transit using Google Maps. The phone was purchased to replaced a Samsung Galaxy S5. The previous phones including the S5 and the S4 Active worked well beyond 5PM. Unfortunately despite the extraordinary features the phone is of no value without battery life and a walking tour of a 3rd world country presents few options to charge the battery mid day. To much boat via Samsung and ATT. Options are fine but once I find the better option the other alternatives need to be uninstalled. The bloat adds no value to the phone. Waiting for the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active with battery life...
