I bought this back in November 2019 and i wanted to use it before i wrote a review. So 3 months later, it's still an amazing product charges fast and cuts down on how much books i have to carry with me from class to class. For the most part, i use it to take notes and pull up notes such as PDFs, PowerPoint's for class and i do all of this through Samsung DeX which allows me to have multiple files open at once. On the topic of note taking i use one note because i am ale to sync it with my laptop and phone the only con about taking notes is that i wish the S pen was shaped like a regular pen because it does get uncomfortable to write with after a while but other than that everything works perfectly. On another note, if i wanted to play games and watch movies i just switch to tablet mode just because i prefer to do that but you are able to do it in DeX mode. I didn't purchase the keyboard attachment mainly because the purpose of me purchasing this device was for note taking reasons and if that is what you are looking for this product is the perfect one to get. Again the pen is not the best because of the design/shape but it's not too bad really but it's not too bad once you get used to it.
Let me get the one bad thing out of the way. The fingerprint reader is useless. I followed the instructions as presented to setup the reader. It took almost a half hour just to register one finger, and then still it "very" rarely recognizes it. Hands-down the worst I have ever experienced. They tell you dont put a screen protector on this high dollar device because it will interfere with the reader, which in itself is ludicrous, but I didn't. However, I am thinking I might as well because it doesn't work without one either. Aside from that one issue, this is a great device. Speedy, awesome screen, great sound, good interface. Nothing not to love, except that frustrating fingerprint reader.
I've had the tablet for about a month and it has been fantastic. My only complaint is that the screen got some hair line cracks when I dropped it from not very high at all... This was my fault and I should have bought a better case, but I would think the screen could be a little tougher. Over all it's a fantastic tablet and an excellent replacement for my Tab S.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Samsung tab S6 is very lightweight and slim and I can take it where ever I go. I like that the pen can charge on the S6, that the pen is magnetic and can bluetooth. Also I like the DeX mode that allows for multitasking, the wide screen is perfect for watching movies or just playing games. The camera on this tab S6 is phenomenal. I believe Samsung has the best camera hands down but the wide angle on this tab is the best, the clarity and color of the camera can not be beat. It seems as if Samsung took in consideration of all the improvements that could be done and did them.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was completely skeptical before getting my hands on the Samsung device. I have used tablets with keyboard and computer interface before but something was amiss in each case. I'm a huge fan of Android devices but the tablets were never up to the mark until now. The key highlights that made me consider Samsung Tab S6: Weight: Less than 1 pound (450g). There are powerful laptops under2.5 pounds out in the market, so the weight was a critical factor in choosing a tablet (with dual-mode). S-Pen: The tactile and ergonomic design is the best overall. It doesn't cost extra (included with a tablet). Attaches magnetically to the tablet, important considering how it's so easy to lose track of it. Samsung DEX: The main reason for using a laptop mode is to access multiple programs/ apps at the same time and adding external devices like mouse/keyboard for improving productivity. Love the feature, please read more about the versatile usage of DEX. It's awesome to learn more but too big for the review here (wouldn't want to sidetrack) Price: Cheaper than any other competing products on the market (from a reliable brand). Things I didn't like or you term it as needs improvement: Headphone jack: I guess following the latest market trends, every product is opting for wireless/ USB-C compatibility, I wouldn't fret too much about it. It's just that wireless interface tends to drain the battery and some are prone to issues. USB-C Dongle: Wish they provided a form-fit USB-C to AUX dongle (easy to include in the packaging). I wanted this as the adapters/ dongles provided with the tab would match the design aspects much better. Speakers: Definitely better than previous tablets from Samsung but there is scope for improvement. Battery: Gets me through most of the day on nominal usage. But it drains in idle condition, didn't expect this to happen. Opened the tablet after 3 days and found the charge dropped to 48%, so I guess flight mode needs to be turned on before turning the device to Sleep mode. Overall the pros outweigh the cons by a huge quantity. I intend to buy one more for my family as well.
