I have had this phone for over four years, and it has performed remarkably. It is not a "Smart Phone", but the basic features make it an ideal choice for someone who only needs phone and text [plus a variety of provider apps - navigation, etc.). The slide out full keyboard is a plus. You really can't go wrong with the Samsung quality and features. A great little phone.
This phone is awful. Even when I'm texting, I have to stop and wait for the phone to type out my words, or it will jumble them. Texts regularly refuse to open, it sometimes doesn't ring when I get calls, the screen stays locked when calls and texts come in, incoming texts stay open (which actually does stop the screen from locking), and the voice command button is a little too eager to be pressed (I don't personally know anyone who doesn't loathe that button anyway). Also, if you do drop it, the back flies off and the whole thing goes everywhere. Once, the alarm clock feature decided to only go off for about three seconds before it quit. Another time, it turned itself off and refused to turn back on until I took the battery out and put it back in again. Overall, it's an awful phone. But the Intensity 1 didn't come in blue, just red and black, so I guess that's nice.
Features - Lacking in ability to add personalized ring tones. One thing it is great at is shutting itself off randomly when not in use. Comes in handy when you want another piece of equipment that is of suspect design quality. Performance - S L O W. Incredibly slow on any use. Sound quality of calls is also poor. Design - Has a slide full QWERTY keyboard which is very difficult to slide due to the SLICK surfaces with which were put on the product. Slides great when adding some sort of cover/case, but that makes it bulky and also hard to use the buttons on the side of the face. Value - It was the cheapest non-smart phone available with my wireless carrier. Also one of the dumbest of non-smart phones on the market.
Although this phone may not be the fanciest phone around, it is an excellent phone for what it is. Its design is fantastic and it feels really compact and sleek. It may take some time to get used to the slipperiness of sliding out the QWERTY keyboard, but you'll get over it within a day. The keyboard works fine, although since the Q, A, and Z keys are shifted to the left it may feel unnatural at times. As for battery life, it lasts for a solid amount of time. During a vacation I constantly used this phone all day, and it lost 2 bars, which is good by my standards. The camera is very nice, and the quality is surprisingly impressive. It's a shame there's no video. The only problem I've had with it was when it froze up once when I turned it off. I had to let the phone run out of battery to get it back up, so I'm afraid I'll have to dock off a point in performance.
I have had my new phone for a month and its very easy to learn, set up and use. If you are looking for a phone with a simple design and not all the bells and whistles of some of the new phones, this is a great choice! Reasonably priced and user friendly, the Intensity II is attractive and reliable. My only wish for this phone is that it had a zoom on the camera and maybe a little better pixel setting, otherwise I'm thrilled with it.
