SANYO NVM-4050 Automobile Navigator

I have used many Different GPS units in my life time. I own 2 other brands now as we speak and I have to say this is the worst one that I have ever owned or have i seen. I actually bought 3 of these units and I am planning on returning all of them. The Battery does not hold its charge. The voice navigation is so terrible. you cant understand one word she says. The route that I have been traveling for 9 yrs every day to work she cant even find. she Detors me all over the place. ( And yes I know how to use it ) The whole YRD thing is totally rediculious. The Suction cups never stays on the Window. I have a GARMIN and I have a INITEL. I would highly recommend either one of those 2 Products over this one any day.

Item works great for sat-nav (gps) but bluetooth not compatible with a Samsung "Alias" cell phone (schu740) I drive a 5 speed and was really looking forward to having the bluetooth feature on this, however, as I have stated it is not compatible w/ my phone which is only 3 months old! 10-1-8 B

I found the Sanyo EasyStreet NVM-4050 Auto GPS to be one of the best buys in its class. After completing the tutorial, it was fairly easy to navigate the controls and set destinations. I tried taking the GPS to known locations to see if it would direct me along the ways I knew. Mostly that was the case, but it also gave me other ways to travel that I did not know about. Battery life has been sufficient for my needs and there is always the car adapter for power if needed. I give it an A+.

I love the size of the screen but it's difficult to set it up. If a mistake is made there is no delete button to start over again. I am a visual learner and the cd-rom is in the house, and I am in my truck(not much help to me.) I would have preferred having a manual that I could take with me outside.

When I got this product I wasnt quite sure how well it was going to work. I read the reviews only after I purchased it off the website. It was on sale for $99 at the time so I figured why not. Bluetooth set up was slightly difficult. But as long as you have your phone in dicover mode, you'll be fine. You can turn this on my selecting 'Options" under your phone's Bluetooth Set-Up. At times, it can take a while to locate where you are when you try to navigate your way somewhere after just turning it on; up to a minute is the latest that I've experienced. The first time I used it was when I made a trip to Orlando the day after I received it. It worked great! It helped me find my way around the city, and since it spoke the street names, it made it alot easier getting around. I love it so I would recommend this product. I havent Used it for a phone call yet, but it can also retrieve and send out your text messages (which I do NOT advise doing while driving!) It can also store and play music but I haven't put in a SD card yet to try it out. You can also transfer files back and forth through bluetooth enabled devices. Its a pretty cool product. A great product for the price.
