Had these shoes for about a month and have been running 5-6 miles with them 3-4 times per week. Overall this is comfortable shoe, but the stretch laces are terrible as it takes too long to adjust them to the correct tightness. Regular, non-stretch laces would be much more efficient and take the guess work out of tightening the shoe.
These are really good trail shoes. They feel perfect as soon as you put them on. That said, I'd prefer to see a revamp with more energy return. Think triumph but for trail if you know what I mean. But if you need a solid quality long distance trail shoe this one fits the bill.
Only have 25 miles on them but love them so far! I'm a bigger runner at 6'-0" and 210 lbs and I really like the thicker stack and additional drop compared to the Peregrine for my longer trail runs. The toe box is wide with plenty of room for my toes and my heels stay in place on the down hills. No hot spots or blisters so far. Other reviews mention durability issues with these shoes, but they have held up great so far. I love them!
I'll start with the good, a lot of protection under foot, I run in the rocky rooty north east and the offset suits the shoe well. The bad, I had the peregrine 13 and loved them but wanted a little more comfort so I went to these. 1. Heavier so not as snappy and responsive 2. When stepping on rocks on the outer part of the sole, the shoe rolls up, foot slides around inside 3. No loop for waiters to attach to 4. Outer part of the shoe comes up too high and rubs ankles 5. My foot doesn't feel secure in the shoe, lacing is funky. Yes, they're the right size and I have 80 miles on them.
Initial thoughts and break in were great! Loved them! Didn't work for race day though. Seemed like the terrain was an issue and the shoes started moving all over. I had to switch pairs at the halfway point.
