Sauder Library With Doors, Cottage Home Collection

We love our new bookcase. Bought with the matching shelf with no doors. Put them as a set in our living room. We can't wait to buy a matching pair for the other side of the windows. They seem sturdy. Looks really nice. Have gotten some really positive comments on them. They do not look cheap at all. Went together very easy, even with a couple of cats helping. The "how often do you use this product" question - they have the same thing sitting on them everyday, but I don't physically use them for anything everyday.

This was the only one of three products I bought in this range that we were able to assemble as the other two were SO badly damaged in transit that we couldn't use them... this one had a few scrapes and cracks but we could work around it. Pretty to look at once you get one that's not wrecked!

From the reviews I read, I expected more from my purchase. I am still happy with it. I bought three additional pieces after setting up the first four pieces I ordered. It is strong enough, looks okay, and the price is good, however, it is not what I would want in a formal living room or dining room.

I got the first 2 of these mostly because i wanted to store things vertically. the finish is really nice without sharp or unpolished edges. there's plenty of space on the 2 shelves behind the doors. like others I've assembled/centered the doors before nailing the back cover on since it's easier to access them. the assembly took about 90 minutes for each. i ordered 2 more for a total of 4 and I'm hoping they'll arrive at the "site to store" in good shape like the first 2. "site to store" associate was very nice and helped me with the loading. my living room looks so much tidier and "classier". great deal - i would recommend them to others who are on a budget and yet want to have nice looking furniture!

Easy to assemble, but significant care should be taken with the particle board construction. The simple act of bumping a board in the midst of construction can EASILY break the component at the point where the cams or bolts meet. I purchased several of these units and the barrister type units to finish out my budget home office. They look good enough for utilitarian purposes, but have no place in a formal living space or library. I would have liked more adjustment capability in the lower doors, making them evenly spaced on the top, bottom and closure areas was difficult at best.
