This bike at first seemed great. It was relatively easy to set up alone. Everything seemed to be in working order and the bike is super cute. I rode it to work and realized I needed to tighten some things and get work on my brakes a bit. Luckily I brought some tools with me in my backpack. I tightened everything up and started to look at the brakes. It turns out, the brakes are probably fine, but the front wheel is all messed up. It is a bit bent and the wheel just looks cheaply made. In fact, the whole bike is pretty poorly made, which is surprising due to the relatively high reviews and the Schwinn name. Unfortunately, I had already thrown out the boxes, otherwise this thing would be going straight back to Walmart. I sincerely regret buying this bike and wish I could return it. I don't want replacement parts, I just want a better made bike.
Comfortable to ride. I like having gears even tho I'm using the bike as a campground cruiser. Was easy to adjust handlebars and seat. Bike was assembled at walmart. Didn't see it when i picked up bike, but they put a crease in the rear fender during assembly. Hopefully it won't rust.
Very easy to put together with some basic tools. Got on it for the first ride and didn't even get one full crank of the pedals before the rear derailleur (which comes attached from the factory - no need to install) got stuck in the rear spokes and broke!
Some assembly required; but parts are labeled to know which pedal goes on each side. Had it delivered to the store for pickup. Hubby put it together. Some issues with the gears shifting, but he is handy so it just took a few tweaks to fix. Bike came with a couple of rub marks from shipping, but wasn't enough to want to return it. It will get scrapped up riding it around anyway. The ride is smooth; took it on an all day pub crawl from Redondo Beach to Hermosa Beach with no issues. Like the look of a cruiser but versatility of the gears of a townie. The seat is comfy and didn't have any squeak issues like other reviewers posted; however the brakes are squeaky so they need a little more adjustments before perfect. It is comfortable to ride. I'm 5'4" and had no trouble adjusting the seat height for comfort.
I like the bike in general. Looks very classic with the brown leather seat and brown handles. Shifts easily without any issues. Only problem is that I have had the bike for about 3 weeks and the back tire went flat already. I have rode it only a handful of times and know for a fact that I did not ride over any sharp objects or anything that could have punctured the tire. A little disappointing. Maybe it is just a fluke think, but I did notice where the stem of the tire comes through on the rim seems that it is at an odd angle and this may have caused the leak in the first place. Will need to take it to the local bike shop to be replaced. Haven't check whether or not this would be covered by Schwinn yet. Nonetheless, aside from this issue I do like the bike itself.
