Scotch Removable Double-coated Tape, 3/4 in. x 400 in.

I wanted to participate in my jobs ugly sweater contest. I pulled out a needle and thread but after two loops, I knew it would take too long and didn't have the patience for it. Thinking of the quickest way to decorate my ugly project, I remembered there was two-sided Scotch tape in the drawer. Well, I arranged and taped everything together and was afraid to try it on: I had doubts everything would stay put on the cloth. To my surprise, this tape is strong because even as I pulled and pushed to pull it over my head and arms, nothing, not one tinsel fell off. Awesome! Wish me luck that I have the ugliest sweater!

Bought a 3-pack, despite reading the negative reviews about the backing being hard to peel off. And then went through the same frustrations... until I realized that THERE'S ONLY BACKING ON THE FIRST 6-7 INCHES!! Roll out that section, cut it off, toss it out, and the rest of the roll is ready to go. No backing to peel off. No frustration. There are no instructions on the packaging (which I have to admit, just one line of "How to get started" on the box would probably help those of us who are, apparently, less smart than tape). The only instructions are printed on the part of the tape that you're supposed to remove -- a little awkward to read since it rotates and is printed in six different languages. Alas, after trying in vain to remove the "backing" from first part of the roll, it suddenly became apparent that the part of the tape that says to "Unwind this protective wrap" means exactly that: unwind it, and remove that section of the tape and you're golden!

I figured it's 3M so it should be an excellent product. The problem is, is that you can not peel the top part of the tape. The the bottom that you adheres to the item is not the issue. Peeling off the top layer does NOT come off. Sadly I purchased a pack of 5. Save your $.

I bought this and it had no instructions for use. I almost threw it away because I did not know that the first 8 inches need to be discarded. I bought a second dispenser with a peel off back and that doesn't seem to work either. again no instrcutions.....

After spending several minutes trying to get the backing off, I Googled to see if there was some secret. Thankfully I found this page of reviews, and found out there is an 8” section at the beginning that has a bonded rubber cover, and requires you to pull the tape out 8” before you get to the double sided part. Why this is not mentioned on the packaging and instructions is beyond me. Once you figure this part out, then it works fine.
