We wanted to make a flannel board out of a magnetic whiteboard. I used the suggestion of another reviewer to clean the spray nozzle with Goof Off, taped the frame carefully, then sprayed a light, even coat of S77. There were perhaps a dozen bubbles in the 24" x 36" board after spraying but either they leveled out or were flattened during the smoothing on of the flannel. We had to reposition one of the ends and the S77 allowed us enough open time to do that. The fabric went on smoothly and looks perfect. This may not be a project for the faint of heart but Scotch 77 is ideal for one-side-sprayed home laminating we needed.
I have been a fan and user of 3M products for the past 60 years.I have trusted their products until recently. I used one can of super 77 that I had in my shop and it worked and stuck all the foam squares to the ceiling of my VO studio The Batch number on the can was 7213CW/A12357/0138. When it ran out I bought another can. It's batch number is A93379329E/0343. Spraying the foam squares in the same manner I have had every one of the squares detach and fall. My faith in 3M products has dissolved because of this situation.
I first used this to apply fabric to a silverware drawer I made, easy to apply and dried quickly, that was a year ago. I used it again to spray some on my entry way bottom half of the door frame to stop my cat from scratching the wood...it worked cuz he hates sticky, that was 3 months ago. Today I used it to adhere two pieces of foam egg crates, it worked awesome! Each time I followed the instructions to a T, shake well and when done spraying I took the can outside and turned it upside down and sprayed until I got air only, then I stored the can in a cool place in an upright position. I'm writing this lengthy review to hopefully help others I read that had negative results. I too had a prior can sieze up...then I read the instructions but added the 'store in cool place upright'...I do believe that did the trick.
I love the way this works but a learning process for certain. Had to learn to use latex gloves to keep it off my skin, read here somewhere that using a cardboard box as a work bay keeps the mist of spreading to unwanted areas etc. But I've only used about 1/3 of the can and now the mechanism is completely clogged and I was hoping someone could suggest a method of unclogging it. Appreciate any assistance. Thankyou.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used this for my bigger scrapbooking-paper projects and it works very well. I am able to spray an entire 12" x 12" piece of paper in two seconds. I also sprayed this adhesive on a cardboard box I got from the craft store and was able to smoothly adhere pretty scrapbook paper. It dries very quickly and is permanent. The instructions indicate that it can be used on many types of materials, like glass, metal, fabric and more, but I have not had the chance to try anything else yet. I am sure it would work well for a variety of household and garage projects. I received this product from 3M for free to try and review.
