I have always used the 600 tape in my stores but lately the quality of the film and adhesiveness has changed. I've bought the same tape in different retailers only to be dissappointed over and over again. Is there any way of acquiring the tape with the stronger film and more adhesive?
We have an online business and ship out small USPS packages every day. My husband, who was in the printing business, introduced me to this tape. I HAD been using the matte-type ("Magic") tape in a desk-size dispenser. When he took over the shipping department four years ago, he changed to this tape, which he had used in the printing industry for fifty years. When I used this, I found that the larger spool is a lot more handy to use, and this tape STICKS -- a lot better than the Magic tape I had been using. Things went along swimmingly until six days ago. He opened the new box of tape I had just bought, put it into the dispenser, and started using it. He IMMEDIATELY said, "This tape STINKS!". He brought it over to me and indeed, it DID stink. It didn't have the regular tape odor (which I've heard some people like); it had more of an organic, something-rotten smell. Both rolls smelled the same, so he took them back to Sam's. On the way home, he went to an office-supply store and bought more rolls. After he put those rolls onto the dispenser we found that THEY stank as well. He took THOSE rolls back, went to ANOTHER office supply store and bought two rolls. He loaded them onto the dispenser and thank goodness, they didn't stink. But ... the new tape is much thinner than the original, and, since it IS thinner, the ends curve down when they're removed from the dispenser, thus the tape curves around your fingers and is harder to use. Looking at the box, we noticed that it states something like "Made in the USA from internationally-supplied parts." The tape is flimsy and only two out of six rolls didn't stink. It DOES stick well, but this isn't the tape he had used for years. We have to finish this roll -- we're out of tape -- but we'll be looking for something better.
I use this tape on a daily basis. I have used to to fix a book that my daughter might have torn, envelopes to go out, and my teacher supplies that go on the wall. This is an awesome tape and is completely transparent! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
This is a basic necessity for any home or office. It works wonderfully, and because you can refill the dispenser, it does a bit to preserve the environment. The consistency of Scotch products means that this tape always works. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I have purchased a lot of boxed tape, by different manufactures. I will not use any other tape other than Scotch - Transparent!. I've even used your other brands in which, this is by far your best, I assure you. I find it's best for Scrapbooking, Facsimile-will stay completely on in which, gives the sender no difficulties in causing any complications with the fax machine after use. I know I found the best tape to use for a lot of different needs, not just office. I will also say, by doing so I'm assured in saving money, also assured I will only purchase this tape from Scotch.
