Calibration seems off. Have used my prior Scott's spread for years very successfully. It finally wore out and bought a new one this year. Using the same Scott's fertilizer, it runs out before I finish my yard when in the past, I would have some left over. Just finished the 3rd application this season and had exactly the same issue. I am applying the product the same way I have always done and using the # shown on the bag. Wondering if others have also noticed a calibration issue with this new model?
Works great and a storage saver. Could be made with a bit more quality.
No assembly, flip handle tighten screws fill bin and your ready to go.
The design of this spreader needs work. The main problem is the product you're trying to spread hits the inside of the wheels. The right wheel more than left. As the fertilizer, pre-emergent, etc continues to fill the wheels it overflows the lip of the wheel leaving lines of fertilizer in your yard resulting in dark green strips all throughout your yard. It is not spreading the product in an even manner. So you have green lines in your yard for months or you don't get the coverage you need with your pre-emergence more fertilizer. I went as far to cut frisbees and place them on the inside of the wheels hoping it would deflect the fertilizer and not leave the lines which it may have helped some but still have the green lines from build up of fertilizer.
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Fantastic... no assembly required. Easy to use. Appears to be designed to last a long time as plastic encased parts wont be corded by fertilizer contact. Minimal effort and the handle is tall enough for a 6ft. user to comfortably operate it. Actually enjoyed using it the 1st. time.
