iHome iH9B6 - Clock radio with Apple Dock cradle - black

I bought this product with such high expectations and was tremendously disappointed. Upon setting it up in my master bedroom, I was so stunned at the poor radio reception. In hooking up the AM antenna, I got static reception for a strong station right in the city I lived in! When I uncoiled the FM antenna, I got static reception if I moved around the room. Tried to hook it up in my living room and got the same bad static. Product was returned immediately.

This unit is exceptional in form and functionality. The look is great and, more importantly, the sound is really good. I've had it for a month, it's in my office on a window ledge, and have used it for at least a few hours every weekday since. It's expensive, but I'm getting my money's worth. I bought it sound-unheard in-store based on online reviews I read and I was not disappointed. I consider myself something of an audiophile and have very high standards, and this unit is excellent. The audio is quite tweakable with adjustments for bass and treble, plus a 3D sound enhancer that I turn on or off, depending on what I'm listening to. The only issue I have is the FM reception is pretty iffy. I lengthened the antenna with some wire and that still didn't really extend the range like I would have liked; I can't pick up a couple of stations that I should be able to.

This was a good purchase - it charges my nano 4gen. Came with all kinds of adapters for iPod/iPhone. Alarm has 5/2 capabilities. (my old clock had to be manually switched between weekday/weekend alarms. Even if your iPod is not docked, the alarm will beep. You can set your snooze time; your sleep time. I only gave it a "good" value rating, because I have a hard time justifying ~$80 for a clock radio. But that's just me. I wanted the radio option, but truly haven't used the radio since setting it up to tune (antennas work great) The charging/alarm was critical for me. The clock display is extremely bright (light a dark room bright), but has multiple dimmer settings, including off.

This product surpasses what I thought it would be! I bought it as a gift for my significant other who is a musician/drummer and he uses it everyday and it is so thrilled with it! The sound system is amazing and it has so many more features than I originally saw when I first purchased it. He now falls asleep to his IPod everynight! I highly recommend this product....well-worth the money spent!!!!

Everything was just as described! Arrived quickly! Having the 2 seperate alarm settings is very convenient, and keeps me from not having to reset the alarm when i have to get up different times during different times of the week! I haven't even connected the external antenna, but it still picks up all my favorite radio stations just fine! It is very easy to switch back and forth from radio to ipod, and has a clear sound! I've only had it a month, but I am really loving it so far!!
