I got this monitor because it had great reviews back in the day. It lasted about 3 weeks before it started acting up. The battery would only last about 15 minutes before running out and making an obnoxious sound to let you know that you've run out of time. This monitor is not only a piece of junk, it's a TOTAL waste of money. Go ahead and invest the extra $20 and get a quality product. About the only nice thing this monitor had going for it was the color.

We got the black unit and the parent side would not connect to the base unit. It just always gave the error message (the middle light). I called the manufacturer and was told to get the silver one. That all of the other colors are made at a different plant and have had known issues. They sent a silver one, and there is a horrible static all the time. We will be returning it to get a different brand. One good thing is that both parts (parent and child) take batteries. So if the power goes out, or something you can still hear. But how often will you actually use that, and most others have that feature as well...

I got this monitor before my baby was born and didn't actually use it until she was about 3 months old, it worked for a while good but then i started to realize that i was replacing the batteries EVERY NIGHT just to make it through the night!!! Nd if i didn't it would start making noises and losing signal in the middle of the night!! batteries are too expensive to buy for ONE night!!! DON"T BUY!!

It's been 2 months and the monitor was working well picking up sounds from a good distance. Suddenly 2 days ago it's stopped picking up any sound. I have it plugged into an outlet but I tried changing the battery as a backup. There is no reset button and I didn't save the original box so I have to throw it out and look for a different monitor.
