Ordered these to use, like another reviewer here, with my metal detector. And they work great. I was amazed at how well they worked. I then tried them with my laptop and had the same results. Perfect sound. I havent tried them with anything else yet, but I dont expect any other results except perfect. For the price the quality is very good. I have tried much more expensive wireless headphones that didnt have the quality and sound that these do. Most other wireless that are portable are much more expensive and dont come with the options that these do. One thing I did note. The wire that connects to the plug going into the equipment that you want the sound from is kind of delicate. So I do recommend that you handle that wire gently and if you use it on a metal detector, would recommend taping it with electrical tape or maybe some shrink tubing to strengthen the wire where it connects to both plugs. Just to be on the safe side. I didnt mark down for that because of the price. You just arent going to find a better price for decent wireless headphones.
I bought my Sentry H0900 headphones over a year ago and have never had a problem other than rapid battery use. (about every two weeks - 3-5 hours per day). The headphones work as advertised. I live in a 1100 sq. foot condo and can walk from room to room and still hear the TV. When the batteries in the headset get weak, there is a definite hum but when fresh batteries are in, they are great. Rechargeable AAAs are the way to go. I had an AC adaptor for the transmitter so I do not use the 9Volt battery. My ONLY nit is that the 'off' button stopped working about 6mos ago. Rather than pushing the button a dozen or so times to get it to turn off, I just open the battery door and pop on of the batteries loose. Takes two seconds. And to address some of the naysayers: If you are getting static then the batteries are probably weak. If you hook up the transmitter to the TVs 'audio out' or 'line out' plug, you will be able to mute the TV or turn down the TV and still listen to the earphones. With rare exception, there is no occasion when the VCR or DVD player should be plugged into the audio or video out plugs.
I'm not sure why so many people had negative things to say about this headset. Purchased for around $20 it was the perfect solution for my needs of simply not keeping my husband awake while I watch TV in the bed next to him. It's comfortable - no interference, not perfect stereo sound . . . but it only costs $20 bucks and it came with all the adapters I needed. It's not a Bose so what would you expect anyway? I've had Walkman headsets that sound worse and cost almost just as much. And if you don't want to use a 9v battery in the base - it accepts and 12v power cord which I had an extra so no additional cost for that. I even tested it out and walked to the opposite side of my home (1400 sq ft) and it had a slight interference at the farthest point - but still exceeded expectation. As far as electrical interferences or buzzing - I have 6 other appliances plugged into the same room on the same circuit, including a window air conditioner, and there is NO buzzing. Another issue I was worried about was if my husband would be able to hear the sound coming from my headset while he laid next to me - no issues. If you turn it ALL the way up - you can hear it if you're sitting side by side. But if you're a person of normal hearing range - that's going to be to loud to tolerate. For these last 3 reasons - this product exceeded my expectations. I also purchased Site to Store since no Wal-mart within 100 miles of my location had it in stock. The only one they had was an RCA which were bulkier - didn't come with the needed adapters at a cost of $50. I'm very pleased with this purchase.
These headphones are of poor quality. A real waste of money. Bad sound quality for use with stereo audio equipment. Some success with t.v. use but a lot of interferance and inconsistentcy. I am sorry that I bought them. Thats what I got for looking for a bargain.
good but a little static
