Great quality. Seems to be well built. The price was really reasonable as well.

This product is somewhat heavy, so it feels rugged, strong, and able to withstand fire and water. However, the latching mechanism is made entirely of plastic. The key lock is metal, but it only secures the plastic latch. I think that it would be relatively quick and easy to break into this case. It would be a great (and simple) improvement to have the latching mechanism made of metal instead of plastic to add some security.

My Son's home was lost to fire. He and his wife had a Sentry safe. I witnessed the fireman find the safe and pry it open. All the contents were dry and intact. That was enough to make me get one that day! I have also told family about this safe and two sisters have already purchased the same Sentry Safe that I did;

After buying a new home in another state, I am currently residing in both. I have a floor safe in the first home, but wanted a secure, protected lock box for documents and other important items at the new home. The H0100 Fire/Water Chest fit the bill perfectly. I feel secure knowing these items are safe.

We've only had this safe for about a month, but so far it is doing exactly what we need—keeping our important documents secure. It is a little taller than I expected so keep that in mind, especially if you plan to keep the safe under a bed or somewhere else with low clearance.
