Love this small safe! Fire and Water proof - You can't beat that. All important docs are kept in this one! Finally, I don't have to worry about losing our most important docs.
No real shipping Styrofoam just 1/8 inch thick uselessness. Dented in several places, Combination Dial Broken! Who would ship something this heavy packed like this?
Just installed and seems well made. Only issue I had was that if you plan to mount it to a hard surface below it like a table you MUST drill one or both of the two specified of the four feet ONLY or else when you are all done you may not be able to close and lock the safe.
This is definitely not a "class B" (burglar hardened) safe. The bolts that extend outward from the door would lead you to believe this thing is really tough, but the bolts only seat 1/4 inch into a plastic liner inside the vault. Looks to me like a crowbar wouldn't have a lot of trouble forcing the door open. Fireproof? Maybe, but I bought this thing thinking it would deter a burglar, and after inspecting it I'm sending it back.
Our family has bought 16 sentry safes over the past 30-40 years and the quality was exceptional; so we needed one more and purchased this safe--what a disappointment!! The safe does not appear to be properly sealed in several places and the corner joints are separating. There are dents in several places some of which were probably caused by handling/shipping. The safe is humped up on the top and bottom and there is discoloration on the top of the safe. Probably the most concerning issues are the plastic combination dial which does not work occasionally resulting in many attempts to open and subsequent wear and tear on the plastic parts and concern for failure in a short time and most probably outside the 1 year warranty. Additionally, the 4 locking bolts only fasten into the plastic interior and not the metal part of the safe and makes one wonder about the how hard it is to break into this safe. Lastly, I'm sure you want this mid 70 year old man weighing less than 115 pounds fully dressed and his wife a few years younger and weighing less than 95 pounds fully dressed to somehow load this 85 pound safe into our car trunk and return to Walmart.
