Sevylor Adjustable Aluminum Kayak Paddle

We will see how well this holds up in Salt Water, but for the price and the compact package it may well be a winner. This was purchased for "Kid's" Kayaks, so I was not buying an expensive paddle for a starter. It has not been in the water yet so I will need to evaluate it again when it has.

Four plastic compression fittings hold the three tubular parts and two paddle blades together. Be sure to firmly insert male into the female parts before tightening with the plastic compression rings. There is no 'O' ring part provided to divert water from rolling down paddle to your hands. Not a concern in warm weather, however, most paddles offer this feature. If the paddles are used in a fast motion and the parts or not fully inserted, the fittings give way and the paddle parts all bend. Otherwise, the product at the sale price is a great value for casual paddling and, in my case, as a back up to my more expensive paddles; they are worth considering.

bought inflatable kayak and needed a paddle so i purchased this to start with, i would say its ok for beginners that are looking to slowly paddle around in still water, if your making a trip up or down stream you will be doing twice the work and forget about going against the wind PROS- easy assembly and break down, very light and floats CONS- actual "paddle" part is to small does not move enough water, plastic handles are uncomfortable and sharp wet hands might get cuts, plastic (unions) hardware comes loose during normal use

Purchased an inflatable kayak, which I think may be wider than typical. While the write up says this is adjustable, I felt it would be weak if you had the poles extended. I ended up taking this back and purchasing a 96" Shoreline Rounded Blade Paddle. It is perfect for my use. Splits into two pieces.

This paddle came with the Sevylor Hot Fish kayak bundle kit along with pump. The paddle is not very well constructed and feels cheap, and the grips will blister your hands quickly. The method by which the pieces secure to each other allows the paddle ends to swivel while being used. Spencer a little more and get a different paddle.
