Signature Sleep Contour 10" Reversible Mattress, Independently Encased Coils, Bed-in-a-Box, Made in Italy, Queen

I've been sleeping on this mattress for a month, so far so good. It's very soft, I don't know, maybe too soft... At the beginning I felt backache, but after a few days, the symptom's gone. I don't feel uncomfortable now.

BACKGROUND: I got a full size for two adults to share (5'7" height, ~130lbs average each). We put it directly onto a metal platform bed frame. He's a med student, and I'm recently unemployed (=on a tight budget). My fiance prefers extra firm mattresses; he would sleep on a hardwood floor if it weren't so cold. I however like soft mattresses, because I switch between side-sleeping and back-sleeping. PROS: -Excellent value. $500 mattress quality. -Packaging was amazing. My fiance was extremely skeptical that this roll-up, vacuum-sealed thing at our door would ever amount to a good quality, springy mattress. It inflated to >98% its full shape/size within 5 minutes of having opened the plastic. -If we did want to return it, Walmart has an excellent return policy, far better than other online purchasing options. -Perfect comfort for our situation. Thin soft surface throughout, but noticeably firmer structure in the center compared to the right and left edges. My fiance sleeps in the center (more firm), and I sleep on the edge (softer). I don't like waking up, because this mattress is so comfortable. Also, you can barely tell when another person gets in and out of the bed. "CONS": -You're buying a mattress online. What's comfortable for one person may not be comfortable for you. -Smell, from having been vacuum packed. It went away after a day. -WAY TOO SOFT over the first 2 days. My back actually hurt after the first day from it being too soft. After a week, however, it picked up in firmness, and we are satisfied. -Firmness is uneven, as mentioned above. Good for our situation, maybe not for you. You can push down on the mattress with the same force, and it gives more easily on the edges than in the center.

I originally bought this mattress with a lot of doubts. I have a hard time getting a comfortable mattress. I needed something cheap, and the bonus of being able to transport it in my little car suckered me in. Then I slept on it - amazing! I have spent hundreds more on mattresses in the past, and yet none of them were nearly as comfortable as this one! I recently moved, and it was cheaper to sell the mattress to a friend and buy a new one, so I just bought this again. Before I moved, my parents slept on the mattress one night, and they were impressed. They'd even just bought a Tempur-pedic, and were debating whether or not this might not have been a better purchase. I know it doesn't seem right that a bed less than $200 (for the full) that comes in a duffle bag should have any quality, but it does!

My overall rating would have been a 3.5 if it was an option. First let me say that the mattress came as described and did exactly what it was suppose to do, expanded before our eyes! We were skeptical of this, but it was an 8" mattress after a minute of it being opened! We were very impressed! The material covering the mattress is very soft and it was very comfortable in my opinion. Our daughter seems very comfortable sleeping on it (have had it about a week so I can't attest to the longevity of the product). Our ONLY complaint is the length of the mattress. We bought this bed for a twin loft bed. This mattress is NOT the standard length of a twin. It is about 3-4inches short of fitting snug in the loft bed frame so in order for it to be secure at the end of the bed we had to add a slat to the bed. This is so unfortunate because it would have been a 5 star mattress had the twin length met our expectations.

So far so good, my son has slept on it a few times so far and seems to find it comfortable. I have tried it out but not for a full sleep, it has good support yet soft. Hope it will hold up for a number of years though a box spring addition might help if there are support issues in the future. Not an overly strong "chemical" smell when it was unrolled. Convenient being delivered (in a canvas type bag). So, to date I am very happy with the purchase.
